Patomak is seeking a Director or Senior Director to lead client-facing strategy and advisory work at the intersection of financial stability, market regulation, digital assets, and payments innovation. This individual will serve as a senior thought partner to clients, with a focus on regulatory change, market implications, and strategic positioning. The role requires intellectual agility across both traditional financial stability topics and emerging issues in digital finance.
The ideal candidate will have meaningful experience in or alongside Treasury, FSOC, or other relevant regulatory bodies, and bring a strong network within the digital assets and payments innovation communities. This person will play a leadership role in guiding teams, delivering high-quality client work, and contributing to business development efforts (including attracting new clients) that expand Patomak’s reach and reputation in these fast-evolving areas.

Overview of Job Duties:
- Lead complex strategy and advisory engagements on financial stability, nonbank market structure, digital assets, and payments-related regulatory developments.
- Advise financial institutions, digital asset firms, and infrastructure providers on how evolving regulatory policies may affect business models, risk exposures, and market dynamics.
- Interpret and communicate policy developments from institutions such as the Federal Reserve, Treasury, FSOC, SEC, CFTC, OCC, BIS, and FSB, with a focus on both macroprudential and innovation-related agendas.
- Deliver client-ready briefings, memos, and presentations that synthesize regulatory developments into practical, strategic insights for executive and board-level audiences.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff, guiding project execution, quality control, and talent development.
- Leverage relationships across government, industry, and policy circles to support client engagement and provide early visibility into regulatory and market trends.
- Play a central role in business development—supporting proposals, identifying growth areas, cultivating client relationships, and shaping Patomak’s strategic presence in financial innovation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree (MBA, M.P.A., M.P.P., J.D.) preferred.
- 12–20 years of experience in financial regulatory policy, strategy consulting, capital markets, digital assets, or government service, preferably with direct exposure to financial stability and innovation topics.
- Experience at or close interaction with Treasury, FSOC, or Federal Reserve System, including through experiences at other financial regulators.
- Experience working at or interacting with the Senate Banking Committee and House Financial Services Committee is a plus.
- Demonstrated people leadership, with experience managing teams, mentoring staff, and leading multi-stakeholder workstreams. Experience managing client relationships and a successful business development track record is a plus.
- Deep understanding of digital asset policy and payments innovation, with strong existing relationships at leading and emerging market participants.

Salary Range:
$300,000-$400,000
Salary will be commensurate with experience, and employee will be eligible for an annual performance bonus based on individual performance and firm performance.
