Job Title: Strategy & Compliance Intern
Job Type: Full or Part Time (at least 25 hours/week in person)

Overview of Job Duties:
- Research various financial sector trends in the United States and globally, including geoeconomic developments in Europe and Asia relevant to client interests.
- Monitor, track, and analyze legislative and regulatory developments affecting financial services, including activity within the U.S. Congress, key committees, and financial regulatory agencies.
- Attend and summarize public meetings, hearings, and other proceedings from financial regulators by providing clear, concise reports for internal and external audiences.
- Analyze primary source materials – such as proposed rules, comment letters, and enforcement actions – and synthesize key themes and implications.
- Conduct targeted market and policy research and prepare written deliverables for senior staff, including memos, briefings, and summaries of regulatory topics.
- Assist with business development efforts, including background research on prospective clients and industries.
- Provide project management and operational support, including drafting reports and presentations, editing client deliverables for clarity and accuracy, and checking and formatting citations, footnotes, and general report cohesiveness.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate, graduate, or recent graduate with coursework in finance, economics, public policy, or a related field.
- Familiarity with U.S financial regulatory institutions (e.g., SEC, CFTC, Fed) and legislative and regulatory processes.
- Preferred: Prior internship experience at a federal regulator, financial services company, thinktank, or on Capitol Hill.
- Applicant must be able to pass a background check.
- GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Skills & Abilities:
- Advanced proficiency in writing, researching, and editing, with strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly get up to speed on new topics, regulatory priorities, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to interpret legislation, regulations, and government reports.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines, and deliver a quality product.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced individual and small team environment.
- Ability to establish, maintain, and grow effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and proactive in one’s own education and career progression.

- Positive attitude and desire to learn.
Salary Range:
$18/hr – $35/hr
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
