Mona Elliot
Senior Advisor
Ms. Elliot advises clients on a range of financial regulatory matters, drawing on over two decades of experience and leadership roles in highly complex and regulated financial services. Her expertise spans domestic and international regulatory strategy, financial and operational risk management, governance, technology and payments, enhanced prudential standards for foreign banking organizations, recovery and resolution, and supervisory engagement.
Prior to joining Patomak, Ms. Elliot was an officer at the Federal Reserve Board. During her decade-long tenure, Ms. Elliot held senior advisor roles directly advising multiple Federal Reserve governors on regulatory strategy, supervisory actions, and financial stability assessments. Ms. Elliot also established an influential international function, developing advocacy strategy at major global bodies such as the Financial Stability Board (FSB) and coordinating direction on committees such as the Basel Committee on Bank Supervision. Ms. Elliot served as Co-Chair of the Recovery & Resolution Program for the eight U.S. systemically important banks (GSIBs) and led a national team of thirty individuals. In that capacity, she chaired the program’s steering committee of senior leaders across the Federal Reserve System and was a member of the Large Institutions Supervision Coordinating Committee operating committee, the governance body responsible for supervisory actions at the eight GSIBs. Ms. Elliot was also the Federal Reserve’s senior staff representative at the FSB’s Resolution Steering Group and Tri-Lateral Principal Level Exercise among the EU, U.S., and U.K. resolution and prudential authorities.
Before entering government service, Ms. Elliot worked at Goldman Sachs as Associate General Counsel after previously practicing law in capital markets and bankruptcy and restructuring practices.
Ms. Elliot received her B.A. in English literature from Georgetown University and her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. She is a member of BoardProspects and AllRise DC.
