Patomak Promotes Sommers and Hires New Senior Advisor and Communications Lead

WASHINGTON DC – Patomak Global Partners is proud to announce that Jill Sommers has become Chair of Patomak’s growing Derivatives Practice Group. The firm also welcomes Jason Chung as Senior Advisor and Sabrina Fang as the new head of communications.

As Chair of the Derivatives Practice Group, Sommers who served almost nine years as a Senior Advisor will continue to draw from her deep experience as a former commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and in the derivatives industry to serve clients. She will lead a team of colleagues with complementary experiences from the industry and the National Futures Association. Patomak is growing its derivatives client services for industry firms, including derivatives clearing organizations, futures commission merchants, swap dealers, swap execution facilities, energy companies, and other firms facing derivatives industry strategy and compliance issues.

As Senior Advisor, Chung is focused on strategy and risk matters at the nexus of national security and financial markets, including contributing to Patomak’s growing CFIUS-related advisory services. He previously served as U.S. ambassador to the Asian Development Bank and is a Treasury alumnus.

“A seasoned professional, Jason brings a wealth of experience to our team and our clients,” said Atkins. “His geopolitical background will be a major resource to be leveraged in risk management issues that go beyond our borders.”

As Vice President for Communications, Fang leads C-suite communications as well as external and internal communications strategies related to press engagement, client relationship management, trade association relations, and social media outreach. She previously served as Vice President of Communications and Marketing at the National Venture Capital Association. Fang also spent nearly two years at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as Senior Director of Media Relations focused on bipartisan communications strategies critical to the business community. Fang started her career as a broadcast journalist covering national and local news for nearly 15 years including seven years as a White House Correspondent for Tribune Broadcasting.
