Mr. Lux advises numerous companies, including those focused on consumer credit provision, wealth management, insurance, and cybersecurity. He has performed due diligence for many of the largest private equity deals that have been done and has worked with a broad network of financial services C-suite executives. He has been a financial services consultant and practitioner for over thirty years.
Mr. Lux began his career at McKinsey & Company where he served various financial services firms across an array of subsectors and functional areas for twenty-five years. He eventually led McKinsey’s private equity practice, and then he moved on to become the Chief Risk Officer for J.P. Morgan Chase (all consumer products globally) during the 2008 financial crisis. Later, he joined the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he was a senior partner for five years and helped build a private equity practice while serving financial institutions. He was the first person elected senior partner at BCG and built the private equity practice to several hundred million dollars in billings.
Mr. Lux is an active thought leader on financial services issues. He serves as a Senior Fellow at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, Senior Advisor to the Committee on Capital Markets Regulation, and Senior Fellow to the Program on International Financial Systems, the latter of which is at Harvard Law School. His most recent studies have focused on trends in initial public offerings, marketplace lending, community banking, and credit card and mortgage markets and have been cited in The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and The New York Times. He has also presented his research before the Federal Reserve Board, the House Small Business Committee, and various universities and trade groups. Mr. Lux is a Senior Fellow at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown University. Along with his client work, Mr. Lux has done dozens of pro bono assignments and served on several non-profit boards. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Mr. Lux received his MBA from Harvard University Business School and graduated summa cum laude from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University. Mr. Lux is the first person in his family to attend college. He also sits on the boards of numerous financial technology companies and the Online Lending Policy Institute.
